Revisit our Heritage on a Candlelight Tour
HOLLYWOOD - 12/5/2008
By Pete Hurrey
|
The historical tours will begin each day at 6 p.m. and runs every 10 minutes for approximately 30 minutes. The cost of the tours is $15 per person. There will be live seasonal music and light refreshments in a wonderful, rewarding and enthralling demonstration of the late 18th century. Sotterley Plantation is a mainstay for Southern Maryland. The plantation is older than Mount Vernon, Monticello and, in fact, the United States. The property is situated on the banks of the Patuxent River, standing as the last tidewater plantation in the state open to the public. The historical landmark features the magnificent mansion, a wide array of outbuildings, including a very rare slave cabin nestled on 95 beautiful rolling acres. Those interested in participating in a Holiday Candlelight tour need to remember that reservations are required because of limited space on each tour. To make a reservation for this weekend, call (301) 373-2280. |
