On Nov.  24, at 3:42 p.m., Marcel Damien Chase, 23 of Mechanicsville, was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko for possession of marijuana.

Chase was operating a white Buick on Three Notch Road, in the area of Chancellors Run Road in California, when he was stopped for not having a child restrained by a seat belt.

Contact was made with Chase and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emanating from inside the vehicle.  Chase was found to be in possession of a partially burnt marijuana cigar.

Chase was placed under arrest and taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
